Rare Vintage Pre-Reuge Interchangeable Music Box 52 Notes 20 Songs on 5 Cylinders. Beautiful early american inlay design. Glass interior cover framed with geometric inlays.

I had a collector visit to help identify the tunes, I have a list. More important, he tells me this is running slow, due to a cracked plastic gear, next to the governor. Incomplete crack is on the collar only and terminates before reaching the gear wheel. This dates the box to 1970 to 1985. This gear can be replaced.

After running through all the cylinders many times, it does indeed speed up and sound much better, as well as slow down, squeaky governor, and even stop near the end of the winding. It is running better each day I used it. I have reduced the price for an entire movement and then some for labor. It may be easier to replace the gear only.

List of melodies will be added soon, classics. After cleaning with a simple air duster the machine now runs even more consistent. Assuming the crack is not an issue as much as cleaning this with professional aluma lube.
