Vintage Reuge St. Croix Switzerland CH4/50 Footed Chest Music Box w New Key
For your consideration is a beautiful REUGE 4 SONG MUSIC BOX. 4/50 #1250 Made in Switzerland and is embossed on the bottom and shown on the label. The four songs include: Sound of Music, Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss and Climb Ev'ry Mountain. Probably made about the time The Sound of Music was first introduced in the 50s or 60s.
There are no issues I can see except that it has an over wound key and needs that fixed. I've priced this accordingly.
This is a heavy music box and has some lovely features... Classic paintings are depicted in a type of postcard style on the chest like box. Feet are what looks like antique brass lions paws.
Handles are beautiful old world styled antique brass. So the box can be fully locked. I don't collect music boxes and figured the person who buys it might already know how to unwind an over wound key. The package will be fully insured for the amount you paid.
