Vintage Italian REUGE Musical Box Cigar Cigarette Lipstick Holder SWISS MOVEMENT

Here we a lovely vintage musical cigar / cigarette or lipstick holder with musical movement by the renowned Reuge Switzerland. The musical which plays is'The Blue Danube Tales From the Vienna Woods'. There are 6 doors which open and each has a holder behind each door. On the underside of the piece is the makers label which reads'GOLD LEAF, PLACE ORO, MADE IN ITALY, REUGE. The Blue Danube Tales From the Vienna Woods.

The outside of the box is finished in a dark blue with floral, foliage and gold scrollwork patterns and is finished to the top with a brass cherub playing a lyle finial and is raised on three brass feet featuring mythological faces. Then to the inside on the holder are lovely embossed musical instruments and to the centre is a harp.

The attention to detail both inside and out is exceptional. The music box is wound on the underside and to start the music playing a button is pressed to the side, also as the music plays the doors revolve to reveal the holders where cigars, cigarettes or lipsticks can be stored.

The music box plays lovely. The approximate MAXIMUM overall dimensions are: 7 inches / 18 cm diameter across the feet x 12 3/4 inches / 32.5 cm high. CONDITION: Considering it's age the musical musical cigar / cigarette or lipstick holder is in good condition. Commensurate with age and use there is some dust, there are aging marks to the brass and a couple of dents, one to the top and one very slight one to side which can be viewed in the final two photographs, there are also general marks.
