This is a superb example of an extremely-rare Reuge music box mechanism, because it is from the musical production "HAIR"--the tunes are "Good Morning Starshine" & "Aquarius, " & because the Reuge Company made this mechanism for 1 "run" only, meaning for 1 year only, 1970. The box measures 6.5 "L x 4" W x 2 1/2 Tall, & weighs just under 2 lbs. The gorgeous walnut wood box is a combination type music box, in that you can play one or both songs and stop each of them in between, or you can play it continuously until it winds all the way down, by means of the on/off button switch in front of the box, and in addition, you can also play this type music box with the lid either closed or open, if you want to watch the wonderful striking of the mechanism. Notice also that the beautiful wood box has dovetailed joint construction, that is that the corners, joints are made of only wood connecting them, & that no nails or metal are used in the box, save for the metal of the music box mechanism itself, for best sound definition. The entire original Reuge song label is present & perfect.
