Authentic REUGE Swiss music box featuring the famous melody "Lara's Theme" from Doctor Zhivago Movement No. Finished in an elegant burgundy color with ornate gold decoration, this mechanical music box features four hinged doors that open automatically when the top finial is turned. Inside is a ballerina automaton along with concealed storage compartments originally designed for small personal items such as lipstick or cigarettes. The music box is fully functional and plays properly. The ballerina moves up and down during operation; however, she does not rotate. There is age-related wear including light scratches, scuffs, finish wear, and patina consistent with vintage use.
