Reuge Swiss Cylinder Music Box 3 Air 72 Note Comb Beethoven (Watch Video)

Here we have a mint condition, 3 air 72 note msical box. This perfect example was made by Swiss maker Reuge, who still make high quality Musical boxes to this day! This box is in pristine condition inside and out and would be ideal to present to someone as a very special gift. Such a luxurious item would, I'm sure be cherished by the recipient for many years to come. The mechanism is in excellent working order and plays beautifully.

It is one of the larger Reuge examples and has a 72 note comb, which is used to full effect. To start the music box, there is a brass control switch to the front. Moving the switch to the right will start the music and it will play continuously until the button is shifted back to the left again. The case is in excellent condition and has an inner glass lid to prevent dust gathering on the mechanism. The outer lid has some very nice brass inlay work, as does every other panel on the case.

The original key is still present with the box and still works, locking the box as it should. The case measures 11 1/2 inches wide by 7 inches deep by 3 1/4 inches high.

The music is played to perfection. Clear, crisp notes ring out in faultless succession. The musical programme features a Beethoven extravaganza, including the wonderful Clair de lune and both the 5th and 9th symphonies.
