To play, after winding, gently move the small decal on the front of the box to the right. To stop, move the decal back to the left. Also, the veneer lacquer finish has what is referred to as "checking" which is basically hairline marks on the surface (see last picture for an example - closeup view and more direct lighting to highlight them).
