Reuge music box 72- The Nutcracker

A vintage burl wood music box. It plays 3 songs with a single 72 note 4 1/2 long cylinder. The box is 9 3/4" by 5 1/2" and 3 1/2 high. It plays the following songs from The Nutcracker by P.

Tschaikovski: "March of the Toy Soldiers", "Waltz of the Flowers", "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy". The motif on the lid is a harp surrounded by flowers and leaves. The mechanism is marked Reuge, Switzerland. The inside of the box also has a sticker with the names of the songs and Reuge Music, Sainte-Croix, Switzerland, 37211 and 3/72.

On underside are three stickers that say "Made in Italy", one "The San Francisco Music Box Company". The winding stem is marked "REUGE SWITZERLAND".
