Reuge Madonna Virgin Mary Hand Painted Music Box Frame, Silver, C. A fabulous Reuge Swiss music box with and stand and pendant bail design. Finely painted oil on ivorine?

With gilted filigree border and accent depicting hand painted Madonna and Child with red velvet backing. Signed "Silver" to right hand side of painting.

This is a Swiss production and Reuge is well known for their production of music. Pair this with the beautiful Christian icon painting and this makes for an incredible early piece. Condition: Aesthetically this piece is in excellent condition. It has sharp original oil paint and great red velvet fabric. There is normal regular wear on the gilt brass with surface scratches.

As far the the music box mechanics: you will notice the video shows a working music box playing a song, however, you should also notice that the song playback speed seems slow. It seems the wind mechanism needs to be oiled so that it winds more smoothly (and faster). I do my best to describe item details, I welcome any questions or additional photos needed.
