ERZGEBIRGE Steinbach REUGE Music Box Rock A Bye Baby Carved Wood Germany

For your consideration is this cute vintage Music Box from Germany. It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features a young mother with her baby in a wooden pull-wagon. The scene describes the outdoors with a flowery tree and some toys around them.

This beautiful music box was made by the famous "Steinbach" company. When the music is playing, the entire box rotates on the base.

The musical movement is a REUGE movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: "Rock-A-Bye-Baby".

To wind it up, just turn the base underneath clockwise. The stopper on the side is missing.

This piece is in excellent condition, (apart from the missing stopper). The colours are bright and shiny.

Please note that the musical movement is new, the old Thorens needed to be exchanged. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Dates to the time between 1945 and 1949 and is marked with the green Steinbach label from that time period. It measures 6" tall and 5 1/2" in diameter. Comes from a clean and smoke free home.
