The bottom has a black felt covering with a perforated brass plate over the cylinder and comb. The felt has been neatly slit to expose the movement. There was tape holding it when we obtained that has been discarded. The box displays a thermometer in the form of a 19th century flintlock pistol. It is mounted on a 19th century or older wooden box measuring 14x6x5 with silver mounts and cabochon jewels.
The brass champleve decorated flintlock pistol measures 16 1/4 is decorative only and is unable to fire a projectile or to be modified to fire a projectile. The trigger and hammer are stationary. There are a few scattered losses to the enamel. The box is decorated with silver mounts and cabochon jewels. There are a few damaged cabochons and one missing. The box and silver mounts show wear consistent with age.
The working thermometer is Fahrenheit and Celsius. The Reuge 72 note movement is working well. It plays 3 unidentified tunes.
My video can only be approx 1 minute long so I could not offer the 3 tunes. Please use the photos for judging condition as they are a good representation. If you need additional photos or have questions please ask. Please check our feedback to see what our buyers say about our items and service!
