1988 Reuge La Musica Ditalia Grand Opera Music Box by Franklin Mint Automaton
La Musica D'Italia by Reuge & Franklin Mint. Commissioned by The Museo Teatrale alla Scala, the Theatrical Museum of Milan, and produced jointly by Franklin Mint and Reuge of Switzerland in 1988. There are five interchangeable cylinders each with 2 pieces of music (listed below). The Solid Brass Reuge movement is set within a beautifully crafted case which is inlaid with eight different types of rare wood.
This music box is complete and in great working condition. It has been recently cleaned and alignment of the movement checked. It winds smoothly and plays like new. There is some light wear to the finish in places, and some damage in the front left corner, pictured.
