This is a wonderful vintage Italian cigarette dispenser with music box made by Pozzo S Patrizio. It is a very unique metal and porcelain piece with a Reuge Swiss movement.
The cigarette caddy dates back to 1965 through the mid 1970's. It presents in excellent condition with all parts working, and the Swiss movement sounds great. There is a minor amount of wear to the metal top of the body, but this is not at all serious or concerning. Overall, the piece truly looks great.
The ceramic body of the piece is artist signed by Ealeri, as seen in photo 5. The ceramic lid and body are white with delicate purple and magenta flowers.
At the bottom, There are 3 dolphin feet attached to the ceramic body. Attached to the handle, the lid has a chain pulley to aid in the precise opening and closing of the holder. On the side (photos 2 & 3), there is a push button which activates the chain pulley to open the lid, while the cigarette holder comes up to the top, at the same time.
The musical component of the piece plays Laura's Theme from the movie/show Dr Zhivago. It stands 13 and a 1/2 in tall, the mid point of the ceramic body measures 17 in all the way around, and the weight is just under 3 pounds. For all those who collect tobacciana, this piece is a definite must have. Music box collectors and enthusiasts will not want to, miss out on this true beauty.
The condition is spectacular, and the unique qualities of this Italian import are fabulous. It truly is beautiful to look at, and will make for a beautiful display piece.
