Vintage Reuge Chess Checkerboard Table Swiss Music Box Italy Lara's Theme

Vintage Reuge Chess Checkerboard Swiss Music Box Italy. This is a unique Italian made Reuge music box incorporated into a chessboard checkerboard. Stands atop four legs and has a top that opens I assume to store pieces. Also has a lock that I do have the key for. This is a very decorative piece with inlay typical of other Reuge music boxes.

I'm not sure if the music mechanism itself works as I do not have the key to wind it. If it does work it plays Lara's Theme from Doctor Zhivago.

Does appear to have some sort of small burn possibly from a cigarette on the edge as can be seen in the third photo as well as a smaller one in the fourth photo. Measures approximately 17 1/2" long X 13 3/4" wide. Musical movement nightstand end table collectible.
