We lost my Dear father a few months ago at the Grand age of 90, he was an avid collector of many things including Music boxes, and was a member of the Music Box society of Great Britain. He bought this superb box in Sorrento as new in 1989 whilst celebrating his Ruby Wedding in Italy with my mother. He bought it from a most reputable establishment, and paid full price for it as he could not negotiate a discount. He told me it was very expensive at the time but he never told me how much he actually paid.

He said he just simply had to have it for is sheer beauty and clarity of sound. It measures approximately 10 x 6 x 3.25 inches.

It has a brass winding key located under the case , and a brass? My father hardly ever , if at all played his Musical boxes , but kept them in show cabinets with glass sides and door. This box is no exception and I have only removed it from its show case today to photograph it. It has been in the same show case sine the week he brought it home from Italy as new in 1989. I have examined it in great detail and it is almost perfect, except for two small scratch areas I have shown with 2 computer generated blue circles in one of my photos.

They are really quite small as you can see and just need a touch of black paint to hide them. They are so trivial I myself would not hesitate to give this Music box to a loved one as a gift.

You may have such a loved one who is an avid collector and I suggest this box would make a truly perfect Christmas Gift , or other occasion. The whole movement is under a glass lid and is still totally clean shinny and pristine, it really is. I cant promote this box any more, its just fabulous.
