There is something about vintage music boxes. The precision of the clockwork mechanisms, the clarity and tone of melodies enjoyed in bygone eras, the stories they hint at as treasured gifts of love and devotion. They make an excellent gift for and from the romantic in all of us. Offered today is a beautifully inlaid music box in a piano motif featuring a vertically mounted Romance by Reuge Music 4-1/2 disc movement.

Complementing the box are 4 Romance by Reuge discs playing the following melodies. The first disc, Silent Night , is the melody featured in the attached video. Also included is an instruction sheet for the Romance disc musical movement. Box presents very well with the movement mounted vertically in the upper section and with storage for discs in the lower section. Two blemishes are noted: Upper left rear corner has a slight dent (visible when viewing from the rear) and the lower right foot has a crack in the veneer (visible when looking closely from the side).

I've attempted to picture these. It is my surmise that it may have taken a tumble at some point in it's life, though neither flaw has diminished my enjoyment of the box.
