Lock and key work perfectly.

Music plays beautifully when lid is opened and stops when it's closed. Plays smoothly until the winder runs out. Lid was not made to stay in the up position. There is no bracket or arm inside nor any evidence showing that it had something there to keep lid up.

To keep music playing with lid down: while holding lid up, insert key, turn to lock position, then gently lower lid, leaving the key in the hole. Music will play until it's wind runs out. Measures: 11" long by 7" wide and about 2.75 high.

Condition: Top and all 4 sides are perfect. Has no chips or scratches. Key end has a little tarnish. Underside has thin hairline cracks in the lacquer layer only, they are not in the wood.

They can not be seen from top. Has gold painted pegged feet. 2 feet do not seem balanced because the box slightly wobbles when opened.
